You can still use all your favorite Raspbian or PIXEL operating system with this update - just make sure to upgrade your Raspbian operating system installed so that the firmware can support this new board. Besides the heatsink problem on the processor (It should be a minor conflict when it comes to casing), there is another major possible collision is the additional 2x2 header pins that are being added to support the PoE capability. The Official Raspberry Pi model B case will fit but some other cases may not, especially ones that depend on component location or have a built-in heatsink. The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ maintains the same mechanical footprint as both the Raspberry Pi 2 Model B and the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B.
